Changes in the legal system resulted also from reserving yourself by Western powers off their citizens from the jurisdiction of the Japanese. Thus, representatives of the Powers forced the adoption of the Japanese legal system in western standards. In the late nineteenth century a strong influence on Japanese law has had so French law, in the late nineteenth / twentieth century – under German law, and after the end of World War II – US law.
