[accordion title=”ABSTRACT”]Princess Maria nee Branicka Lubomirska lived at the turn of the century. She was married to Prince Zdzisław Lubomirski, who was lawyer, landowner, conservative politician and chairman of the ‘Central Civil Committee’. She was well – read, so when World War I began, she decided to wrote down important events and her own feelings. Her diary was written in the classics form, for instance princess used a first-person narrative. In the diary, she was writing about diplomacy, society and of course the cruelty of war. Besides Maria Lubomirska was describing the successes of her husband and most influential people in Warsaw and Galicia. Princess did not think about official publication. However, the memories was first published in 1997. Now, when we are reading the diary, we are there, an insight into the past.[/accordion]
